Harborfields On The Shore is your family-friendly, pet-friendly, and boater-friendly vacation destination, with a quarter-mile of shoreline and over 8 acres of woods and fields. Located on the west side of Boothbay Harbor, Harborfields overlooks the boats coming and going in the harbor and the beauty of the village, a mile across the water. The Harborfields dock is a hub of activity for boating, swimming, and fishing. We are secluded, yet only two miles by land from the town center, convenient to restaurants, shops, churches, theatres, yacht club and boat landings.
The cottages are old-fashioned and "rustic," but we do have the basics, like indoor plumbing, hot and cold running water, and electric lights! No televisions, radios, or telephones; no pools, hot tubs, or spas ... just quiet simplicity, peaceful views, waterfront activities, and friendly hospitality -- ideal for a Maine vacation! -- since 1948!
But don't take our word for it -- read what guests have written in unsolicited reviews and comments that we have found on the internet:
"Harborfields holds a warm spot in our vacation experience. For more than twenty years (and more if you count my wife's childhood trips) we have enjoyed a uniquely pleasant time on the shore....."

"... a beautiful spot on the water and an equally beautiful walk into town. Wonderful communication and hospitality by our hosts Tim & Wendy... Many upgrades to most cottages since we last visited, but same waterfront view and peace of mind! Great for family stays in Boothbay area!"

"We were extremely pleased with our stay from check-in to check-out... the Wharf Cottage, although rustic and basic in it's appearance, was just what we needed.... You can't get any closer to the water or more scenic than this."

"The accommodations, while rustic, suited our needs perfectly. If you're looking for luxury, this place is not it. But it's on the waterfront and our kids adored (it)...."

"...cottages right on the Harbor. The location was so peaceful and scenic. We stayed in the "Shore" cabin - just a couple feet from the water's edge. It was rustic, simple and oh so relaxing.....we would definitely return there."

"A Peaceful Place to Stay. We stayed here for a week one summer and we were very happy. The cabins are well appointed and have the basic necessities. The Cottages are located very close to the water and have a beautiful view."

"5 stars. I really like this place. It has a good vibe. Of course, it doesn't have fresh water, like Knickerbocker Lake does, but it's a fine, salty alternative."

"We recently spent a long weekend in the Boothbay Harbor area. We stayed at Harborfields, which is a family owned grouping of cottages on West Boothbay Harbor. It was a cluster of small individual cottages right on the Harbor. The location was so peaceful and scenic."

"Harborfields sells out this month [May] for the season I reckon - a nifty place with no radios, TV's or 21st century intrusions, they are nicely green and ten minutes driving slowly from Boothbay Harbor..."

"5 stars. Harborfields has always given me energy and peace in my very hectic life. I look forward to our return there. My favorite thing is grabbing my first cup of coffee and going out on the deck before the sun comes up and watching the sunrise all while reading a book. All the peace is there. Love It!"

John Jorgensen, who spent summers at Harborfields in the 1950's, came back with his wife in August 2012 and had this to say:
"What did we like the most? The Relaxed laid-back environment. It is a place where families with young and older children can find plenty to keep them entertained. Those without children can find peace and quiet and be as active or inactive as they wish. The Thorpe Family hallmark hospitality remains strong with Wendy and Tim."
