The Thorpe Family's 18th century homestead, a lovely Cape Cod-style colonial with large central chimney, original pine floors, exposed beams and other authentic period details. Has woodstove with glass door insert in the main fireplace in family room and a Monitor heating system to take the chill off in Spring or Fall. Sleeps up to ten in five bedrooms, as follows:

1st floor, SE bedroomone queen bed
1st floor, NE bedroomtwo twin beds
1st floor, S bedroomone twin bed
2nd floor, S bedroomone double bed
2nd floor, N bedroomthree twin beds

Two full baths -- one upstairs with shower (fully renovated for 2014), and one downstairs with claw foot tub and shower.

The house also features a simple but complete "un-fitted" farmhouse-style kitchen (unfitted meaning that it does not have the built in cabinets and counters found in modern kitchens). It is supplied with a full array of pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Linens and towels are also provided.

A large covered porch and a secluded patio offer water views in two different directions. Guests have access to the dock, tidal beach and other Harborfields amenities, including a coin laundry. No TVs, radios, or telephones, but we do offer free WiFi internet access on premises.

With about 1834 square feet of floor area, this old house is great for family reunions or group retreats!

Comment from an August 2012 guest: "What did we like the most? The simplicity, the serenity, the calm, the farmhouse, the cove, the water view, the rural feel, the fact that we are made to feel at home!"

Our web calendars are always up-to-date. In fact, they are what we refer to in order to see what is available!

What is "Returnee Hold?" A long-standing tradition at Harborfields is that guests from the past year get "first dibs" on "their" cottage for "their" week for the next year. However, if these returning guests have not confirmed their next year's reservations by December 1, the "returnee hold" will be released and the dates will become open, available first-come, first-served.

Sometimes past guests do not return, so if you would like to be put on a waiting list for dates that are subject to a "returnee hold," please contact us at reservations@harborfields.com
